Gloat x Microsoft Teams Commercial
A product video made to make CHROs smile, cringe, and say, “Wait—we need this.”
When launching Gloat’s Microsoft Teams integration, we had two goals:
Show how seamless and powerful the feature is, actually get CHROs to watch, laugh—and see themselves in it.
Instead of creating another typical product demo, we developed a mockumentary-style short film that speaks directly to HR leaders… by reflecting the very world they live in.
This video was conceived, written, directed, and edited by me, and it became a campaign that proved that even an integration demo can feel like a piece of entertainment.
I wrote the script with satire in mind: each character represents a different kind of HR trend-chaser—pet perks, the metaverse, gimmicky engagement tools. The idea came from a simple truth: every CHRO has sat through a year-in-review meeting where everyone’s trying to one-up each other with shiny HR initiatives.
We took that moment and exaggerated it—just enough—so that it still felt real.
We used humor to contrast hype with substance, character-driven storytelling to humanize the product, and a mockumentary style to keep it relatable, even when explaining new functionality.
The spot became one of Gloat’s most-watched and most-shared product videos to date. CHROs told us they “felt seen”—which is exactly what we were going for.
It drove interest not just in the Teams integration, but in Gloat’s broader value prop: helping HR become more strategic and less performative.
This wasn’t just a feature announcement—it was a creative campaign that showed how video can turn even a technical B2B update into something audiences actually want to watch.
To build momentum, we launched a playful teaser campaign asking people to share their wildest HR dreams. The result? Dozens of ideas, tons of engagement, and a perfect setup for the product video’s tone and payoff.
